Mountain Bike Tour of Guernsey gets rolling

PLENTY thrills and spills and fun is on the cards at the Mountain Bike Tour of Guernsey which got under way in style this morning.

Riders tackled a three stage enduro at La Pomare with another five days of action ahead.

We were there to capture some of the racing here.

It is the 25th anniversary of the event, which is paying homage to the bikes and riders of that era. Those using older bikes get a points advantage on anyone using modern machines.

On Monday the action switches to Ronez Quarry and nature trail, before a downhill at Petit Bot on Tuesday, a gravel crit at Pleinmont on Wednesday, a time trail at the Underground Hospital on Friday and the final cross country at L’Ancresse Common on Sunday.

Events in the week start at 6pm, while the Sunday race is at 9am.
