Runners join forces to raise money for Sunflower Project
ULRIKE MAISCH and Vicky Carre are teaming up to raise money for the Sunflower Project.
They will join forces as a two-person relay in the Guernsey Marathon to encourage donations to a cause which is very close to Ulrike’s heart after the loss of her husband Richard Friedrich last month.
The Sunflower Project supports children and young people who have experienced the death of a loved one or a serious illness in the family.
The service is part of the Youth Commission and offers information, advice and resources to parents and carers, family sessions, one-to-one support and group activities.
Richard was a talented marathon runner – he won the Guernsey event in 2020, the same year that Ulrike and Vicky were also on the podium.
